Hi I'm Melissa
I'm a stay at home mom of five children. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I love to do crafts, cook, read books. I'm the youngest daughter of a single mother. I spend a lot of time shuttling kids back and forth to school and sports.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a teenager I became inactive in the church, and wanted to go my own way, do my own things, all of which were against the teachings of the church.I had two children by the time I was 18. As an adult I am thankful for the atonement of Jesus Christ, and the opportunity that I had to repent of my past transgressions. I met and married a wonderful man who loved me and my children and legally adopted them. He became a member of the church 6 years after we met and we were able to be sealed together as a family, for all eternity in the Orlando Florida Temple. My husband is now the Bishop of our ward. I am so thankful for the knowledge that I can be with my family for all eternity. I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ and the love he has for all of Heavenly Father's children. I know that there is a living Prophet today who leads and guides this Church. I am thankful for the knowledge that I am not alone in the universe, and that life doesn't end here on earth. I am looking forward to the day I see my Father in Heaven again, and all of those members of my family who have already passed on.
How I live my faith
For the last 8 years I was a teacher and then counselor in Primary. I worked with children from the age of 18 months to 11 years old. This year we learned about Choosing the Right. I try to live my faith by treating others kindly. I am now the leader of a program called Activity Days where I work with 8 to 11 year old girls, learning our Gospel principles, and doing fun activities.
