Hi I'm Amy

I'm an art student, a violinist, and a missionary. I love my family, the outdoors, and meeting people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an art student in college. I want to paint pictures that will inspire, teach, and uplift everyone who looks at them. I play violin in the symphony at my school. I love backpacking, trail running, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, triathlon training, scuba diving, and camping... I'm up for adventure. Family adventures are the best! I'm the third of 8 children, two girls and six boys. My dad's a pediatric heart surgeon, so we've gotten to live in a lot of places while growing up. My favorite places in the world are Moab, Utah, and Pétionville, Haiti. I believe in people! They are just so good. Everyone has their own incredible story. Pick a random person on the street, make a movie out of their life, and it will be a blockbuster hit. I love people. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary in the South of France and French-speaking Switzerland. Wish me luck!

Why I am a Mormon

People aren't perfect, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. The Mormon Church is the restored fulness of the church that Christ established. The true authority of His Priesthood rests on worthy and ordained members, and we are led by a divinely inspired Prophet and his Twelve Apostles. God speaks through them to give us counsel in modern times, just like in the Bible. Having modern, living prophets is so essential. Our world today is incomparable to anything it's ever been like in the past, and so we have problems today that humans have never had to solve before. Prophets receive revelation and direction to keep us safe in modern times. Also, I can't tell you how much I love the Book of Mormon. By studying it by myself and putting it to the test in my life, I've received personal knowledge that it is good, and that it is true. There is no such thing as counterfeit peace, and the Book of Mormon brings peace to my life. It points me towards my Savior and my God. It brings my family closer together. It gives my life meaning and direction! Read it for yourself, and you'll see exactly what I mean.

How I live my faith

I've wanted to serve a mission for the Church since I was 13. I volunteered often to go out with local missionaries to knock on doors, share messages, and teach lessons. I loved the missionary spirit! Sharing what I knew about Jesus Christ to people I didn't know was difficult at first, but I really loved the feeling I got from sharing something that was so important to me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ that I learned from books of scripture like the Book of Mormon brought so much peace into my life... it feels selfish not to share it! Everyone needs that peace. Especially in such a confusing world. Deciding to serve a full-time mission was not a hard choice for me, because I know how the Gospel can change lives. That knowledge can change the darkest night into noon-day sunshine. The only reason not everyone in the world has that in their lives is because they just don't know where to find it. I live my life to help them find it.
