Hi I'm Spencer

I have lived all over the world. I served in the Army. I work in advertising. I'm married and have two children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful and beautiful woman and I'm the father of two very happy and vigorous little children. I work in advertising and really enjoy my work. I served in the Utah Army National Guard and served a year in Iraq as well as spent much time in training across multiple states such as South Carolina, Texas, Georgia and California. I served two years as a missionary in Uruguay helping people come closer to Christ. In turn, I found that serving others brought me closer to Christ. I play the piano and guitar and enjoy singing. I especially like writing music. I am passionate about promoting freedom and liberty and love the constitution of the United States and am avidly involved in promoting principles of liberty where I can. I have a deep passion for learning and I define myself as a seeker of truth. I read or study in any spare minute.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've seen the fruits of following the teachings of the scriptures and modern prophets. I have prayed to God to know if the Bible is the word of God and received a yes answer to my prayer. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon to know if it is the word of God and have also been told it is the word of God through the Holy Ghost. I have done the same to know that Jesus is my Savior and that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the current president of the church is also a prophet of God. I know that God hears my prayers and answers them and that through the manifestations of the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things. The fruits of those prayers have been answers to my prayers and when I have sought to live according to the teachings of the Savior and the tenants of the faith I have seen the good fruits and know them to be true as well. I am grateful for our loving and tenderhearted Father in Heaven and Savior. I know they know me and love me and know and love you and that they desire to bless us. I know that as we learn of them and apply what they teach that we will be blessed. I know that Jesus blesses and saves when we come unto him. May we ever do so!

How I live my faith

I love learning but even more than that I love trying to apply what I learn. The more I apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to my life the happier I am and the more peace I feel. Jesus taught us to sacrifice and to serve others and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches the same. As members we have formal and informal opportunities to follow Jesus's example and serve our fellow brothers and sisters regularly. As an example I've had the opportunity to organize and help carry out various individual and community service projects for the members of our local congregation. In addition through the Church's home teaching program I have the privilege of visiting a handful of individuals and families each month to ensure their needs are met. It is through this program that every member is looked after and cared for on an individual basis. As a youth my father took me to visit an elderly woman in our congregation for whom he had the assignment to home teach. Halfway through the visit he looked down and realized that in her old age she had placed her shoes on the wrong feet. Originally I had resisted going but was touched as I watched as he knelt in front of her and carefully placed each shoe back on the appropriate foot. His example of service reminded me of the Saviors and my attitude toward service changed. I am grateful for opportunities to serve and grateful for how those opportunities help refine me and make me better.
