Hi I'm Cody

I love hanging out with friends. I love to work out, and pole vault. I plan to study aerospace engineering. I'm a mormon!

About Me

Hey, my name is Cody; I am a Mormon, and I love it! I was born and raised in a small town in Idaho, and I have been LDS for my entire life. At the moment, I'm about to leave to serve a mission in Arizona. Fortunately, I have been working every summer to save up enough money. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, snowboarding, and lifting weights in my spare time, although I probably don't look like it haha.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by goodly parents who love the Lord and was fortunate enough to learn much about the gospel of Jesus Christ at the hands of my parents. Nonetheless, in my younger days, I was not nearly as faithful or committed to my beliefs as I am now. I was very unsure about a lot of things. However, If there is anything that I had the oportunity to testify of to you it would be that if you lack wisdom, you may ask of God with a full expectation that you will receive an answer, as it says in James 1:5&6. I know that the our Father in heaven loves us even more than we could love our own children, and as such, he speaks to us now, just as he did in the days of old. After all, did he love them any more than he loves us? I became fully converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ by simply asking God the Eternal Father in prayer, in the name of Christ if the Book of Mormon is true, with a sincere heart, and real intent. He did answer my prayer, and I felt the Spirit of God burning like a fire within me. I testify that you can have this same confirmation if you will study the Book of Mormon and pray with the same faith, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I was most recently the 1st councilor of my Young Men's program. I have been in this program for some years now, and I really enjoyed it. I loved going to church every Sunday and learning more about the gospel of Christ with my friends and leaders. In this capacity we would regularly bless and pass the sacrament (communion, I believe it is called in other faiths), both in church, and in the homes of those who were too ill to make it to church. Every so often we had the opportunity to give service to others in some capacity or another, such as splitting firewood for them. I greatly enjoyed my position in this organization.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

"11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:11&12) By reading the scriptures, we are literally fortifying our spirit against the trials and temptations of the devil. I have definitely witnessed this miraculous phenomenon in my own life: when I am consistently finding time in my daily life to study from the scriptures, I truly am strengthened. Things that I could not otherwise deal with, or challenges that I struggle with, are suddenly not so difficult. The scriptures will give you strength to face any trial you are facing, no matter what it is. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon missionaries set aside everything in their lives and dedicate 18 months to 2 years for complete service to The Lord. They are ordinary people just like you, who have experienced the joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into everyone's lives that will accept it. The gospel is centered around Jesus Christ and is literally for everyone! It blesses, inspires, strengthens, and uplifts! That is why Mormon missionaries do what they do. "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
