Hi I'm Cynthia

I'm a microbiologist, a ballroom dancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny San Diego, moved up to Utah, had a wonderful time in college, graduated (twice) and am now working as a microbiologist for an awesome diagnostics R&D company. I love to dance (mostly ballroom), I love music (all sorts), I love reading (sure love me some Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings, etc), and I love the beauty of the outdoors (for example: have you seen southern Utah?). I love Japan, after having lived there for a year and a half, getting to know the people and learning the language. And last, but certainly not least, I love my family! I have been blessed with wonderful and faithful parents, true friends in my fun-loving siblings, and the most adorable niece and nephew. I love spending time with them and playing games and laughing the night away!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how it makes me feel. Whenever I'm down, I can find peace and comfort through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Whenever I wonder or worry about what the future holds, I can receive direction and hope. Whenever I have doubts, I can remember that I am a daughter of God and that gives me faith. My life is generally happier when I'm trying my best to live the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ daily. Things aren't always picture perfect and I still have hard times, but I can see the bigger picture and be at peace, trusting that everything will work out how it's supposed to.

How I live my faith

I l live my faith daily by studying the scriptures and the words of the prophets. I also pray for guidance, direction, and protection daily. I try to follow the Savior's example by being kind of loving to those around me and serving those in need. I'm definitely not perfect, but I am trying! Also, in my local congregation, I teach one of the Sunday School classes. I love the opportunity to study, discuss, and learn from one another at church.
