Hi I'm Perry

I was born the in USA. I have lived in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and now in Texas. I am a retired geologist and I am a Mormon

About Me

Father of 8, Grandfather of 15+. I love family and life. I am a retired geologist after 30+ years in the oil industry. I love to be outdoors especially around rocks! I like collecting and polishing rocks and I enjoy working with my hands.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Mormon faith of goodly parents, It is not that upbringing that causes me to stay in the Mormon faith. Rather it is because I have found for myself, through study of the word of God and through prayer to Him, that this Mormon Faith is His Gospel, His church. God has reconfirmed this truth me multiple times in multiple situations through out my life in times of trial and in times of joy. I continue to search for truth, but have yet to find anything that compares to my Mormon faith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For me, it contains the fullness of the the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His Divine truth.

How I live my faith

I currently teach Senior HS young women and young men in our early morning (6:00 am!) seminary program. I find preparing and teaching a 40 minute lesson about our Savior and His Gospel every school day rewarding. Especially when the potential for strengthening our youth against the evils of the world is so high. I was active in scouting as a boy and enjoy helping scouts to achieve their Eagle Scout award, the highest ranking Scouting. I strive to be a good neighbor by actively bringing together our neighbors through frequent neighborhood barbecues.
