Hi I'm Melissa

I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Melissa and I love to be around people. I enjoy the outdoors and being with my family. I have 3 older brothers and two loving parents. I have been blessed in my life to be where I am today. I have a desire to help people and hope to pursue a career in Social Work helping foster kids know they are not alone. I believe a smile cures a wounded heart and that a positive attitude can do wonders. I am serving in the Colorado Denver North Mission and am grateful for the opportunity.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel it is such a blessing to be apart of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The gospel alone has done so much for me in my life that I will never be able to explain in words. The reason I am a Mormon is because I know this is the only true church here on this earth, that is was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith and is led today by a Latter-Day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I have a strong testimony on eternal families. Through God's power, families can be together forever. I owe everything to my Heavenly Father for giving me another chance at life and I feel by serving a mission, I can teach others about the eternal happiness the Lord has in store for each of his children. God knows us, He loves us and He is waiting to receive us back into his arms.

How I live my faith

I had the wonderful opportunity of teaching the five and six year old's every Sunday in Primary. We discussed the love our brother, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father has for each of us. I loved teaching these children and feeling their sweet spirits. They are very smart and often time they end up teaching me more then I teach them. I am currently serving in Colorado as a full time missionary. It is such an honor to have been chosen one worthy to do the Lord's work.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

A Husband and Wife can be together forever as long as they are sealed to one another with the proper authority. This authority is given to worthy male members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through God. It is the same authority that was here upon the earth when Jesus was on the earth. It was restored in these latter-days so that way we could receive eternal blessings, one being that families can be together forever. Show more Show less
