Hi I'm Kristana

Hi! I'm 14 years old, I LOVE reading, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kristana! I'm in ninth grade, which is pretty terrifying. I was homeschooled my whole life, and this is the first year I've EVER gone to public school!!! It's pretty fun (other than the homework). I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading, mostly fantasy and some historical fiction. I'm trying to write a novel, but I keep getting a new idea, and I start working on that one instead, then I get another idea...and on and on and on. Sigh. I like hanging out with my friends and talking (which my friends say I do much too loud). I have been playing piano for 8 years, and am just starting to play drums. My favorite subjects are Spanish and geography. I'm playing softball this year, which I like a lot. I love going to Young Womens and Girls' Camp. My favorite season is fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, so being a Mormon is very important to me. My parents have always stressed scripture reading and prayer, which I do every night. I have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of the Restoration, and of my Savior Jesus Christ. The gospel is very important to me, and I would be lost without it. I appreciate my Young Women leaders and everything they do for me. I am thankful for my friends and for what they do to help me and support me. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of this church. I am thankful for my parents and my sister and for the example they give me.

How I live my faith

For one year, I served as a counselor over the teenage girls ages 12-13. This was difficult and scary, because I had to talk to girls I didn't know and conduct meetings. I did it, though, and I now have greater appreciation for my leaders and anyone who has to speak in public. Although I was released from this calling, I still play piano on some Sundays for the girls to sing along to. Hmmm, how else to I live my faith? Well, every year, I participate in a city-wide clean-up day. It's really fun; you get to go around and pick up trash and talk to your friends and eat breakfast burritos and hot dogs. :) I wear my "I'm a Mormon" shirt to school, and some girls asked me about it. My friends know that I'm a Mormon, and they know not to show me songs with bad words.
