Hi I'm Aubree

I love art, music, theater, reading, and my amazing family! I'm a future missionary for the LDS church! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Music is my life! Just ask my family, and they'll tell you that all I do is listen to music. Part of that love of music has gotten me into musical theater! I love expressing myself onstage, and getting the opportunity to expand my talents. In my spare time, I either read or sketch. Another hobby I have is making costumes! In my junior year in high school, I was diagnosed with ADD and depression. Overcoming depression turned out to be one of the most strengthening experiences of my life. But more on that later... I have a random fascination for elephants, cucumber sandwiches, astronomy, Jane Austen novels (and movies!), Harry Potter, and climbing trees. I hope to go to BYU, and major in Music/Dance/Theater, or something of that sort! However, right now, I'm just working to earn money for my impending LDS mission!

Why I am a Mormon

As I said earlier, one of the most difficult, yet strengthening experiences of my life was overcoming depression. In my junior year, I was on a downhill slope. Everything just seemed to be crashing down on me. Finally, I hit a point one night where I just couldn't find the will to live anymore. I asked my Father in Heaven to just let me come home. I'd always heard that in heaven you could find peace and rest from all your sorrows. Heavenly Father answered my prayer, but not in a way I'd expect. I suddenly felt peace in my heart, and knew that I could overcome this depression, if I just trusted in Him to help me out of that pit I'd created for myself. It took a lot of time and tears, but with His help, as well as the love I also feel from my big brother, Jesus Christ, I made it. I know that without my foundation in the gospel, I never would have been able to overcome that darkness. I love this gospel with all my heart, and I owe everything to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful for the Atonement, and for the opportunity to hear the Father's will through living prophets. I love our prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and I love all those who have helped to restore this gospel to the earth. I know without a doubt that I am God's daughter, and that Christ is my big brother, and that the LDS Church contains the fulness of their gospel. That is what strengthens me through any trial, any hardship. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to serve others. While in high school, I organized opportunities for my school's choir to sing at homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and hospitals. It was amazing to see my peers making an effort to serve, and being changed because of their amazing experiences there! I am currently preparing to serve a mission for my faith! I'm so excited to share this gospel, that I love so much, with others!
