Hi I'm Brett

I grew up in West Valley City Utah and I am a film major and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Brett and I am currently serving an LDS mission. I was attending college and will be after. I am going into the digital production major or film for short. In high school I played football, basketball, and baseball and enjoy doing all of those things. I haven't played in a while because life and college gets in the way once you have stopped playing in high school. I enjoy also playing video games and hanging out with my friends and family. I was raised in the church and have loving parents at home who have helped me through the hard times in life. I do have to say that I have had a blessed life and sometimes that is what is hard. I think growing up in the gospel we are so blessed but at the same time you don't appreciate it as much as you should or maybe as much as someone else does who has seen the other side of life. I have had experiences in my life that have helped me to realize how blessed I really am and now I am proud to say that I will be serving a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

As I said before I have been involved and grew up in the gospel my whole life. The reason that I stay in the church and stay a Mormon deals with a lot of things. One of the reasons is that I enjoy the happiness that I get from being a part of this church and also from following the commandments. I have been through some things in my life that have really helped me to see what life is like when I am not living the commandments or when I am not doing the things I am suppose too and I know the pain that those things brought my life and once I repented I felt a more peaceful feeling. The gospel brings me peace because the many things it teaches. One of the things that brings me peace is the plan of salvation. Knowing that there is life before this life and life after death brings me great peace. I know that this gospel is the true gospel and that this church is the true church. I am a Mormon because I know that it is the truth and the peace that it brings me with all it's teachings.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time LDS mission. This means I get to go out and spread the Gospel and declair that Jesus is the Christ and he is our Savior. This also means that I will be serving those around me and those who haven't and have had the opportunity to hear the gospel. I am so blessed because of this and as I live my faith my faith grows. My last calling in my ward was assistant executive ward secretary. What that means is that I would help with finance and ward membership in my local ward. I have served in other callings. I really enjoy my calling now and have enjoyed my callings in the past. Some of my previous callings in the past have involved in helping fellow young men with their duties in the church when I was younger. I really enjoy the people in my ward and community part of the church or not. I like being friends with everyone and giving people the benefit of the doubt.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

The reason that we need a savior is because when Heavenly Father sent us to this earth to receive a body he knew that we would not be perfect and that we would make mistakes. Also no unclean thing can be in the presence of our Heavenly Father. This means that we need a savior so when we make mistakes we have a way to become clean again so we can be in our Lords presence. Jesus Christ is our savior and has preformed the atonement so we can be forgiven. The atonement is when Christ suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and if we use the atonement and repent we can be forgiven of our sins and make it back to our heavenly father.
