Hi I'm Jule

Native of eastern Washington, I am a wife, mother, sister, and friend.

About Me

I love to read, swim, and sew.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a lifer, that means that I was born in the church. But, that isn't why I'm still in it. I know it to be true. I took the challenge the leaders give us and found out for myself. I read the scriptures, pondered what I read then got down on my knees and asked God if it was true. I cannot deny what I felt then and continue to feel.

How I live my faith

Right now I teach in the Primary and Relief Society. My favorite calling though was early morning Seminary, where I taught the youth in our branch some of what is in the scriptures.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Jule
Modesty in dress and language has always been important to me. When I got married, and before we had children, I spoke to my husband about how I thought we should dress our children. The church advises modesty, but doesn't give spacific guidlines for what is appropriate and not appropriate. I decided that everything in my family should be at least to the knees, be that shorts or skirts on boys or girls. As well, all of my children, boys and girls, must have sleeves on their shirts. My children know what is expected of them with regard to dress. I do not have to fight with any of my children about what they are wearing when they leave the house. Show more Show less
