Hi I'm Derek Gardiner

I am from San Francisco CA, I am Very active in my Ward The Church is Awesome!

About Me

I am an outdoors-man, a bicyclist, I love music and reading, hanging out with my friends, going to movies I am looking for a soul mate to share the beauty of this world Heavenly Father allows us to enjoy daily. In the meantime I am working towards attending college, Serving as a full-time Ward Missionary in my ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church in march of 2009, In the previous couple of years I had realized that my marriage was over. I left my wife moved from Arizona to Tennessee, where I had friends and family who offered assistance, So after many personal events that occurred quickly in Tennessee. I realized that I had committed a major Sin in Gods eyes and as a result I could not have any further blessings happen to me in-fact it felt like I was cursed. So after days knowing that I was not pleasing the Lord. I went out walking and praying this prayer was long! it was very cold I prayed like I never prayed before, I told the lord even if the answer to my prayer is not what I want it to be; to simply make it be known to me that I was being answered! I went home. The next morning around 8:00a.m, there was a knock at my door it was Missionaries they told me that heavenly father had sent them to me as an answer to my prayer, that I looked distressed and what could we do to help. Over the next few weeks I met nearly daily with those young men they really cared about me. I was baptized shortly thereafter and it was truly the best descision of my life. Now I have the gift of the Holy Ghost with me everywhere I go I absolutely love the church and have no regrets about joining.

How I live my faith

I hold two callings in the Church first: I am a permanent ward missionary, I enjoy this work I get to assist the missionary's preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ; this is so interesting because many people do not know Heavenly Father or his son Jesus Christ, and may have never heard of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. I am thrilled to find people who have little to no knowledge of the church it gives me an opportunity to teach others the Truth about the Gospel. My Second calling is: Priesthood Holder who attends Relief Society (Lady's Group) Meetings for various forms of support including helping ladies carry items to/ from their cars, holding doors, as well as anything else that may be of use to aid the ladies. I look forward to accepting any new callings the church may ever need me for. I also look forward to starting hospital visits to sick and elderly people in the near future.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?
