Hi I'm Kaitie

I'm a college student. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently study political science and Russian at the University of Utah. I've had the great opportunity to travel with my family to many countries around the globe. Additionally, I lived in New Delhi, India, for three months doing an internship with a humanitarian group. I also just returned from serving a mission for the LDS church in Moscow, Russia. I love Russia and the Russian culture! It is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I hope to do foreign relations so that I can continue to travel and experience new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS Church as my parents are both members. However, when I was about 14, I read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I prayed to know of its truth, and I received that answer. I continue to be a Mormon and live this Gospel because I am a better person because of it and I know that through it I will make it back to our Father in Heaven. I love the support structure of the LDS Church, and how it is centered on family and service. I know that there is always someone who cares about me in the church that I can go to for help. I know that this church teaches true principles that are founded on Jesus Christ and his life: faith, repentance, family, service, trust, knowledge, happiness, and being a good person.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a choice, as it is for all people. While I was on my mission in Russia, I met incredible people who constantly choose to live their faith, and choose to find joy in it. The Russian people taught me a lot about being a disciple of Jesus Christ at all times, in all things, and in all places. I remember them as I read my scriptures and pray and go to church and attend the temple. I also have learned that the simple things are truly the best ways to live our faith and maintain our faith. As we pray and ponder the words of God, and strive continually to keep His commandments, I know that we will find happiness and that our knowledge of God and Jesus Christ will increase.
