Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm an athlete, singer, musician, I've been called to serve in the Iquitos Perú Mission, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the dry heat of St. George, Utah. In the past eighteen years of my life, we have moved over half-a-dozen times. Regardless of all the moving, I've been able to enjoy a life full of activity. I love to run, so any sport that requires it is a must! The sport that has really captured my attention is Ultimate Frisbee! Another thing that has always been fun to do is singing, whether it be along with the radio, in a choir, or goofing off with family! There are so many great things on this earth that have been provided by our Heavenly Father out of His love for us, and I do my best to appreciate and find joy in them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a family of Mormons and baptized at the age of eight, but that isn't why I'm LDS. I'm a member of this church because I want to be. Throughout all these years, I have continued to learn about this gospel, realizing the importance it can play in our lives. I do my best to live up to the standards the church has outlined for us, knowing it can and will help if I do. I know that we need to be truly converted to this way of life, so after all the searching, reading of the scriptures, and praying I've done to find out if this church is true, I was blessed with the testimony to know that, without a doubt, this is the right path to continue on. Knowing this makes me strive to live the way our Heavenly Father would like me to, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel according to my understanding of it. One of the things that we do every day is live by being a good example. People are always watching, so we need to be ready to show them what this gospel can bring. A big push that has helped me in living and learning more about my faith is my calling: a primary teacher for the five and six year old kids. Preparing the lessons for them helps increase your own knowledge of the gospel, then allows you to share your findings with the children who will be doing the same thing later. It really gives you the drive to help them as best you can. With my mission coming up this October, endless opportunities are going to be placed before me to preach the gospel to the people of Perú. This gospel is for our benefit, so I do my best to comprehend it and apply its teachings in my life so I may be able to bless others and myself.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

There are many ways to get to know our Heavenly Father. One of the ways that sticks out to me is by getting to know Jesus Christ. In St John 5:19 it says, "The Son (Jesus Christ) can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he (Heavenly Father) doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." Jesus Christ does exactly what our Father in Heaven does. By studying what Jesus did while on earth, we can understand how our Heavenly Father is. In a word: perfect. Show more Show less
