Hi I'm Ben Mansell

I grew up in Sandy Utah. I was born in the church. I took a year of college at Salt Lake Community College.

About Me

My name is Ben Mansell. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Both of my parents are members as well as everyone else in my family that I know. I graduated from Hillcrest High school in the year 2011. After I graduated I went to Salt Lake Community College for a year to get some of my generals out of the way before I went on my mission. I am currently getting ready to serve in the California Los Angeles spanish speaking mission. After my mission I plan on carrying on where I left off in getting my college education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and was raised as a mormon by my parents. I did not have any doubts about whether my church is true or not. I had some questions about it for sure, but I believed that it was true because my parents believed it and I know that they would not intentionally lead me astray. As I grew up in the church people would tell me that I could not just live on my parents testimony of the church. They told me that I had to develope my own testimony. So that's what I did I started reading the scriptures and searching for answers to questions that I had. It took a while to start out because it was hard to read and understand the language of the scriptures with all the thee's thy's thou's and so on plus I didn't really like to read so that hindered me a little bit. However, my desire to find the truth overcame that and I was able to understand and read the scriptures through practice. I also found some of the answers to the questions that I had. Also I noticed that everytime I read the scriptures I would feel at peace and this warm fuzzy feeling would come over me comfirming to me that everything that I am reading is true. I began to build a testimony of the church. I learned in Seminary the steps of developing a testimony which was first have faith in a truth, then put that faith into practice, then when the end result proves that it is true you have a testimony of that truth. I put that into practice and proved all the doctrines taught by the church to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith like most members. I go to church on sundays where I learn all I can about my church. I read the scriptures and pray every single day. I fulfill all of my church callings that are given to me in my ward. One of my callings is a ward missionary. What a ward missionary does is help out the full time missionaries find people to teach and sometimes goes with the full time missionaries to help teach the investigators.
