Hi I'm Whitney

I'm a feminist and I love history. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run on long mountain trails. Anything that deals with history, especially art history, interests me. I love music and beautiful things. I am always on a quest for knowledge and love to get my hands on a good book. I have five younger sisters, who always amaze me. I have two strongminded, happy parents. Nothing is more important to me than my family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I attended Brigham Young University for two years and am now serving a mission of the LDS church in Louisville, Kentucky. I want to be a high school level history teacher when I grow up. Teaching is wonderful because it is the best way to learn. The best place to learn is within the home and I hope to have a family of my own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, but I do not continue because of habit. I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has Christ as the foundation. I have come to know this by reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon and both bring me closer to Him. When I have prayed about and read the Book of Mormon. I have felt the Holy Spirit confirm to me that the Book of Mormon is the most true book on this earth. This knowledge has lead to my knowledge that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and through him, Jesus Christ established His church again on the earth. There is no possible way that a person could get the Book of Mormon without the Lord giving it to them. "A wicked man could never write this book and a good man never would, unless he was called by God to translate it." (quote from Elder Holland of the Qurom of the Twelve Apostles)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by standing as a witness of Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and I try to live my life so others can recognize me as a follower of Christ. I am very far from being perfect, but I understand that because of Jesus Christ, I don't need to be. I do my best to do what Christ would do if He walked the earth today, which is to serve. Everyone can use a helping hand or uplifting words and I do my best to strengthen those around me. Most importantly, I share the message of the Restoration of Christ's true church with those around me. By sharing this message, I can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit more in my life, telling me that the things I say are true.
