Hi I'm Sandra

I love working at Boy Scout Camp every summer! I enjoy spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of seven kids, and I love spending time with them. I grew up on a family farm raising havoc, along with potatoes, pumpkins, and pigs. I have worked six summers at Boy Scout Camp, and loved every minute of it (especially the super crazy moments with all the scouts!) I'm going to college as a Biology Teaching major, with a Chemistry Teaching minor, and I'm super stoked to start converting kids to all of my scientific ways! I am fascinated by nature, and especially the chemistry side of how everything works.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been influenced by the church my whole life, but until I chose to apply the things I learned, I wasn't truly converted. When I went to my first semester of college, my mom was diagnosed with a serious disease that only 18 people in the world have been known to have. She has gone through many life-threatening surgeries and endured much pain. When I realized how close I was to losing my mother, I was so overwhelmed. Did I really believe all that I had been told? Through much prayer, fasting, and sincere study of the scriptures and current day prophets, I can tell you today that I know with all my heart that this Church declares the truth. We can be with our families forever! Though we may part for a time, this is just the beginning of a great adventure! The savior rose from the grave, and because of the sacrafice that he provided, I can be with my mother forever, along with my entire family as long as I strive to do what is right. I am so grateful for this knowledge, and I hope that I can share it with others so that they can feel the peace and joy I feel from this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have been so blessed by opportunities to serve. Being active in the Church every day has influenced my life. I have participated in the Singles Ward of the Church for almost three years, and I'm so grateful for that opportunity. We have done many fun and way entertaining activities that have been safe and uplifting, and that have built me up and helped me believe in myself. For example, every Monday night with the singles ward we do a 'home evening', and gotten together to do some sort of activity. Usually it consists of a spiritual message, a crazy game or activity, and lots of food. Many times at college I felt lost away from my parents, but at this activity I was able to find people who believed things I did and who supported me in my efforts to succeed. What a great opportunity!
