Hi I'm Rachel

I play saxophone. I do ceramics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five children. I am a student at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Right now I am studying saxophone performance. I love music more than anything! However, I also love being outside and playing any sport possible. My biggest hobbies are reading and doing ceramics.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all, I know that this is Christ's true church. He leads and guides us all and blesses us for being obedient to him. I feel of his love whenever I go to church, read the Book of Mormon, or pray. The doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true! Whenever I follow the commandments and do the things the prophet says I should do, my life goes a lot smoother and I am happier. On the other hand, when I don't listen to the counsel of the prophet or keep the commandments, I have a lot more trials and problems in my life; it is so hard to be happy and cheerful when I am not following the teachings of the church. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives me the greatest joy that I can experience in this life. I would be lost without this truth in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with others. Sometimes it is little things like planning activities where members of the church can come together and feel the love of God. Other times, I make a big commitment to share my faith with others; right now I am preparing to leave for Finland to serve a full-time mission for 18 months. I couldn't be more excited!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No one is required to serve a mission. Young men age 18 or older have a responsibility to serve a mission, and any women age 19 or older who want to serve a mission can. I am choosing to serve a mission because I know that my service will bless the lives of many people. Show more Show less
