Hi I'm Martha

Dancer, Seamstress, Potter, Daughter, Sister, Aunt. I'm a california-girl with a passion for life.

About Me

I'm a student at my local community college, have been for just over 5 years. Even though it's taking me a long time to finish my degree, I have moments where I think to myself, "This is why I still live at home." These moments are instances where specific talents and attributes I have become necessary to accomplish the task at hand. Like being able to enlarge a pattern for a bridesmaid dress for my sister. Or being able to reach a vase because I'm 3 inches taller than my mother and have that extra bit of reach.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been attending the LDS church since I was born. My parents were members and made attending church meetings a family priority. Growing up, I never questioned why. And now, I'm glad I continue to live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Following the commandments, the word of wisdom, the prophet, allows me to live in the happiest way possible. I know, without a doubt in my heart, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith truly saw our Lord and Savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that living my life in accordance with the gospel will keep my feet on the path that leads back to our Heavenly Father. I know these things to be true, and leave them with you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I taught primary in my home ward for the first two years after graduating from high school. What a blessing it was to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and love of the gospel with these children. They taught me to be patient, to that it's okay to be a little silly, and helped me to increase my passion for life. In my current ward, a congregation of young single adults, I have been called to be the Temple Coordinator. My duty is to organize carpools for our monthly trip to the Oakland California Temple. I make it a personal priority to attend these trips to the temple every month. Going to the temple each month is a way for me to become closer to my Heavenly Father.
