Hi I'm Dalene

I love sewing, crafts, digital scrapbooking, computer games and my dogs, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married and we just celebrated our 9th anniversary. Before we met I was a single mom for 26 years, I have twin sons who've blessed me with four super grandsons. I'm also a step-mom to another son and a daughter. I'm happiest when I'm with family. I love life, having fun, and enjoying laughs. I also enjoy digital scrapbooking, desktop publishing, crafts, cooking, sewing, reading scriptures, writing, family history, computer games and good movies.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was baptized when I was 10, I saw a great difference in our home when the holy spirit touched our lives. At age 18 I moved out and began making choices that led me away from the church. I was naïve, had low self esteem, got my heart broken and started "looking for love in all the wrong places". With drinking and promiscuity I didn’t feel worthy to be around family and friends. I fell deep into a scary world, of drugs, alcohol, immorality, and abuse from men, a world where evil destroys so many of God’s children. Satan is miserable and preys on lonely people. I don't blame Satan for choices I made, and have long since been forgiven of, but once you take the first steps away from God, it becomes harder to see good choices as options, and turning your life around sometimes takes a miracle. Perhaps two miracles for me, my two sons! Motherhood made me realize I didn’t want to even imagine raising them without God. I went through a painful repentance, facing my Lord and admitting all my wrongs. As I forsook my sins and promised to stay close to Him I was forgiven and felt his loving arms around me. Through His atoning sacrifice I was cleansed and though my “sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow”! (Isaiah 1:18) I am such a different person now, all guilt and shame were washed away through the unconditional love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Heavenly Father wants us all to return to Him, his Son already suffered for our sins and waits to rescue every soul.

How I live my faith

In the congregation where I live I get to share my talents by creating our weekly church bulletin and a newsletter for our women's organization. Once a month I also get to teach the women. It is wonderful to belong to Christ's Church and enjoy the fellowship. I've learned that women are highly valued by the Lord and of infinite worth, and I'm so grateful that men in the church are taught to cherish and honor us. I love the women's organization because even in our small town we know we are part of an important worldwide sisterhood of hope and charity. We learn to give service, not only to others but to ourselves as we realize the value of womanhood. We support one another both spiritually and temporally, while we help our families do the same.
