Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a Mormon. I'm from Georgia, and I´m on a mission.

About Me

I'm 19. I moved a good bit when I was younger with my family, but now have settled down at one place. In High school I was a runner and pole vaulter. This taught me endurance. I've used this endurance in many aspects of my life, including religion. One of the things that our church teaches is enduring until the end. Many of the things that we do in our every day lives can prepare us for the world to come.

Why I am a Mormon

I attended many churches when I was young with my mother. Although I was young, I still listened to what the preacher had to say. We bounced around from church to church and soon had almost given up on religion altogether. Then we happened to move to a place where we had family and our family introduced us to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Instantly the things we started to hear at church rang true in our hearts. We could feel the spirit with such clarity that we knew we were in the right place. We had never heard of mormons, but once we were introduced into the church we just couldn't get enough. I know that this is the true church of the Lord in these the latter days and I wish that all could feel the peace that I do knowing the truths that have been revealed to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a variety of ways. I often wrap myself up in service. If i have free time and someone calls me up in need of help, I always love to serve. Through service we can feel closer to our heavenly father. Jesus served during his whole life here on the earth, so through service we can live like Christ. Other ways that I help is by going to the Wednesday night activities at the church and helping with the young cub scouts so that they may learn and earn merit badges. I absolutely love to do anything that will help other people, which is why I will be soon serving a mission. I'll have the chance to serve others all the time and teach others the same things that I know to be true.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We are Called Mormons because we believe in a second book of scripture, that is used in conjunction with the Bible to teach the fullness of the gospel. This book is called the Book of Mormon. It is Called this because the Prophet/Historian named Mormon abridged many books into the one book that we call the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We are baptized as new members because Jesus was baptized. We follow his example by being baptized by immersion. We are not only baptized though. We are baptized by one whom we believe to hold the proper authority to baptize. Show more Show less
