Hi I'm Heather

I like running and hanging out with friends. I read good books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time missionary for the church in Ventura, California, speaking Spanish. Serving the Lord by sharing this message of happiness of peace through our Savior, Jesus Christ, has brought so many blessings. Some would say it's a sacrifice to spend 18 months away from family, friends, school, and work when you're only 19, but serving the Lord isn't difficult. As I've come closer to Him, He has come closer to me. This service brings me so much joy. I grew up in Utah as the oldest of five kids. I enjoy music, especially playing the piano, and I also like to read. Before my mission I attended BYU and completed my freshman year as an English major. All aspects of my life are enriched by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My family has peace and we can have fun together because of the teachings of our Savior. The music I listen to and play strengthens me and makes me able to feel the Spirit of God. Reading the Book of Mormon, I have come to know for myself that this church is truly Christ's church restored on this earth today.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but as I got older I had to make the decision to continue being a Mormon and living this lifestyle. There have been many experiences in which I have developed stronger faith in God and in my savior, Jesus Christ. I remember the first time I knew without a doubt that God knows us individually and answers our prayers. My parents had been trying for a few years to get pregnant again, and two younger sisters and I had made a point to include in our daily prayers this request for a new little sibling. Long after my parents had stopped trying, I was still praying for another little baby. When I was 12, I witnessed the answer to my prayers--my mom became pregnant with identical twin boys even though my parents hadn't been trying to get pregnant for a couple years. I realized then that God answered my prayers directly, and my little brothers, who are now six, are living miracles God has given my family and I. As I grow older, my belief in the God and Jesus Christ is strengthened little by little. Each day, as I pray and study the Book of Mormon, I get added confirmation from the Holy Ghost that this church is true. I have been able to develop a relationship with my savior Jesus Christ as I have studied his words in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. My belief and reliance on Him has helped me through the trials life has brought me.

How I live my faith

As a missionary for the chruch, I spend every day serving the people I meet and sharing the knowledge of Jesus Christ with them. It has blessed my life tremendously and I am excited to meet people every day who I can help come to Christ and feel the blessings of the Gospel as well.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Heather
Without baptism, we can't receive the full glory that God offers us in the next life. Baptizing by proxy those who did not have the chance to be baptized in this mortal life allows them the opportunity to receive the full glory God has offered to all his children. Show more Show less
