Hi I'm Genevieve Brown

I'm a furniture maker, a Mother and a seamstress. I live on a ranch in the mountains of California and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a Mother of 7 children and a Grandmother of 30 grandchildren. I grew up in Salt Lake City and attended college at Dixie State College. I was a seamstress from the time i was 8 years old, making clothes for my children and grandchildren. As all the children were gone I took a woodworking class at the local college and found I had a real talent for furniture making. I love making furniture from pictures of my ancestors pieces.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been fortunate to be born in the church. I had great parents who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and took me to church. I had great teachers who were kind to help me gain my own testimony. When I was 14 years old. I attended a youth meeting with a special speaker. In the middle of the meeting we stood and sang the hymn, "Joseph Smith's First Prayer", I could feel the spirit and I knew this gospel was true. I know this is the church of Jesus Christ, He is our Savior and Redeemer. I want to do all I can to follow Him and be like Him.

How I live my faith

I teach the 7-8-9 year old children in our congregation and I lead the music for all the children. I love teaching and learning with the children. I especially love to do the singing time. It melts my heart when I see a 3 or 4 year old sing with all their heart. You can see that they are truly children of God.
