Hi I'm Kaleb Blackburn

I Love Food, Reading, Legos, Star Wars & Pokemon, I'm a missionary in the Iowa, Des Moines Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the town of Layton Utah and have lived there most of my life. I am the oldest of 4 with 2 brothers and 1 sister, and both of my Parents. Growing up it was hard for me to connect with other people and later in life I learned I have Aspersgers. Even though it has been hard for me growing up, I know that the Savior Jesus Christ understands me and loves me perfectly. I love people and all the things that they bring with them, their insecurities, doubts, weaknesses and shortcomings. I strive everyday to emulate the Savior Jesus and what he would have me do and be. When we take the time to learn about others, we find out that they are children of God, and God's love for them is there whether they think they deserve it or not. We are all Gods children and we all are desiring to live with God and return to him. I love food, Culinary Arts and everything about the food industry. I am working towards becoming a Chef and owning a business that I run and operate. I love Video Games that have great music, story lines & lore. Music is also a thing I love and enjoy, along with a good book to read. Movies also can have power to motivate and inspire us, so I have a long line of favorite movies. I know this Gospel is true, because I live it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have been a member all my life. Throughout my childhood I went through the motions and did what every good Mormon boy should do. Since being on my mission I am converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I know that The Savior desires all men to repent and come unto him. I am a Mormon by choice, not by birth, I choose to follow the Example of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon and have found for myself that this is the Saviors true church.

How I live my faith

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is how I live my Faith. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the gift of mercy for us to be cleansed from sin and be ablet to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father. This is called the Grace and the Ressurection through the Savior Jesus Christ. Being a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have learned that I have Aspergers Syndrome. Aspergers is the higher functioning form of the usual Autism. Just as with other mental tendencies, such as Down Syndrome and Alzheimers, it is a trial that some of God's have to experience and live with. Though to some it may seem unfair, and a stumbling block I know that In Gods mercy he has given these experiences to his spirit children. I believe in the power of the Ressurection, "My son peace be unto thy soul, thine adversities and afflictions shall be but a small moment, and then if thou endure it well, God will exhalt thee on high". When we are all ressurected beings, all of our pains, adversities and affliction will be over and our bodies will be changed into a perfected state. I believe in the power of the Ressurection and the Grace of Jesus Christ, Through these things we are able to return and live with our Heavenly Father again, to dwell in his presence. This is my Faith and my Testimony, and I leave this with you, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Kaleb Blackburn
Families are the backbone of society and the first group to walk the earth. We believe as Mormons that families are forever and can last throughout the eternities. Families are what bring us happiness and it is a small taste of what Heavenly Father wants us to be. Families provide us with the most joy in this life and are essential for Salvation in the highest kingdom. Families are ordanied of God and anything that God commands is important to his followers. God wants us to be happy so he gave us families so that we can be happy. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kaleb Blackburn
There has to be a God. Everything In our world testifies of the great creator of this earth. No man has been able to replicate the beauty of nature and of the Earth. You don't throw words in a dictionary and expect them to make sense nor do you place books anywhere in a library. Everything has an order to things and things don't just happen. I have prayed to know of God and have found through Prayer that he is there and he knows me and all of his children. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Kaleb Blackburn
A testimony is a knowledge given to you about the truthfullness of what you speak. Also that what we speak of through our testimony is truth given to us through the Holy Ghost. the Base of any testimony is that, Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that he preformed the Atonement so that we all can return to our Father in Heaven. That God lives, Is our Heavenly Father and he loves us. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith that Christs true church has been restored to the Earth once again and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints is the restored Church of Jesus Christ once again on the Earth for his children. What is the priesthood?

Kaleb Blackburn
The Priesthood is the Authority to act in Gods name while here on the Earth. The Priesthood came from Jesus Christ who gave it to his apostle during his mortal ministry. Was restored to the Prophet Joseph Smith and is given to every worthy male member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The priesthood Power allows us as members to bless the sick and afflicted, Preform The ordinance of baptism and leading and guiding our church in these days. The priesthood comes from God and can only be exercised with righteousness. We follow the example of Jesus Christ when we use the priesthood, serve with love, gentleness and kindness Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Kaleb Blackburn
We as the children of a loving Heavenly Father must first develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the lessons that he taught. There is no other name in Heaven whereby men can be saved. By having a faith in Jesus Christ we can have faith in our loving Heavenly Father who sent his son so that we can return to live with HIm. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Kaleb Blackburn
All people in this life either we like or not sin in this life. Sin makes us children of our Heavenly Father unable to return to his presence. The Savior Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be clean from sin and return to our Heavenly Father. Without the Savior we all would fall short of our goal and none of us would be able to return to God. God loves us so much that he made it possible for his children to return to him by sending his son Jesus Christ to take upon himself the sins of the world. Through the Savior we are able to return to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Kaleb Blackburn
Jesus Christ the son of God lived a perfect life and we as the disciples of Christ choose to follow his example. Jesus Christ loved everyone, even those that did him wrong and with this perfect love we can love our brothers and sisters just like Christ did. Faith in the Mormon church is not a passive belief in Christ we believe that it is an action so we choose to love our families more deeply than most because we act on faith and choose to follow the example of Christ. When we have shared beliefs it can help Mormons in all of their relationships and not just inside to become like the Savior who loves all of us. Show more Show less
