Hi I'm Derrell

I have lived most of my life in Idaho, I love to to run in Track and play soccer, I am an eagle scout, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from high school and already I miss it just about as much as I am glad to have gotten away from it. I loved to play soccer and run track in high school. In soccer I played in the position of striker. In track I ran the 200 and 400 meter dash, and ran on the sprint medely, 4 by 100 meter relay, and 4 by 400 meter relay. Over this last summer I worked as a part of the ARU maintance crew, which is a part of the vet program, at WSU. For this job I did several different types of jobs. I worked on fences, mowed lawns, painted buildings, shoveled out animal stalls, and feed the large animals, except for the bears and deer. Some of my hobbies are reading books, playing the ukulele, fishing, hunting, and playing video games. The most current series that I'm reading is the I am Number Four series, The Mistborn series, and The Lost Hero series. So as you might be able to tell I like Sci-fi books. I also love to play different kinds of games such as ultimate frisbee, soccer, or volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or mormon, for all of my life. Even though I have known no other kind of life, I wouldn't change. I wouldn't change because I know with my whole heart, mind, and soul that this is the true church of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I am a member because I not only know that the teachings are true, but I also like them. This gospel gives me a hope for this life and the next. I also like this being a part of this gospel because it helps me to be the best person that I believe that I can be. I also love this church because of the wonderful people that are a part of it. I am a Mormon and am proud to be. I know that Jospeh Smith was a true prophet and that the Book of Mormon was translated by Jospeh Smith by the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the LDS Church is true and I know that my Redeemer Lives. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a couple of different ways. In church, for the past year or so, I was the first counselor of the the group of young men ages 16-18, know as priests. As first counselor I was the one who helped plan the different activities that the priests would participate. I was also the one who was in charge of the our weekly meetings. I am also an Eagle Scout. I have been a part of scouting since I was a 8 years old. For my Eagle Scout project I erected a fence along a stretch of sidewalk that is part of a school park. Before I could even begin building the fence, I first had to straighten out the juniper bushes that lined the side walk. The fence finished out at around a couple hundred feet and was a split-rail fence. That has been about 4 years ago now. For scouting, I now support my younger brothers in their scouting. Another way that I live my faith is by following the word of wisdom. I don't drink alocohol or do drugs. I also will not get any kind of piercings or tattoos. I also strive to eat healthier and exercise so that I can stay fit and healthy.
