Hi I'm Kaetlin Bracken

I'm a cowgirl, violinist, skier, sister, daughter, and aunt, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I attend college, though I do not yet know what I am majoring in, and I work as a waitress. I enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking, horseback riding, playing the violin, cooking, running, and swimming. Most importantly, though, is my family. My brothers, their wives, and my parents mean more to me than anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I attended church with my parents. I never really doubted what I was taught, but I did want to know for myself. It was a slow process. There was never a big revelation. An angel never came to me, but I could feel something; a warmth. There were definitely hard times. I had a hard time believing in myself, but there was a day when I heard a voice in my head that said, "My child." Then an image a Christ's hands came to my mind, with scars from the nails. I was reminded of how much He loves me and wants me to be happy. Sometimes it seems like He could never love us, that we have done too much, but I know with every fiber of my being that He does love us, no matter what we do. We can return to Him- He is waiting with His arms outstretched for us to come to Him. He will forget what we have done, and we can be washed clean. I know this because I have experienced this myself, and I have seen others go through this as well. It is not always easy, but it is the greatest experience ever.

How I live my faith

To help out in my ward, I lead music, and I do something called Name Indexing, where I go through old information like war drafts or censuses and catalog the information so that we can find our ancestors. I also attend the LDS temple, and try to just help people out around me. Sometimes the best thing we can do for someone is ask sincerely and then just listen.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kaetlin Bracken
There are so many things that tell me there is a God, but two really big ones are the days when I am having a hard time, and then the right person says the exactly right thing at the exact time I needed to hear it. Everything suddenly falls into place right as I feel that it's about to fall apart. Then I pray, and I can feel his love for me. He answers my prayers. That alone tells me that He is there.
