Hi I'm Brittany

I have a fantastic life! I'm a wife and mother, a special education teacher, and a health coach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a geologist and we have the opportunity to move around to different places where oil is located. I have three beautiful children who make life crazy but enjoyable. I graduated with a degree in Special Education and taught all different ages for a time. Recently I lost 90 lbs. and now I get to help others do the same. I love to dance, play sports, bake and cook, run, and teach. It's a great life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS but it wasn't until college that I really learned it was true. I felt God's hand my whole life. I remember many answer to prayers through the years, very distinct feelings and thoughts given to me. There was one special prayer though. I was praying to know if the Book of Mormon was truly the Word of God. I spent a lot of time with the Lord that day. And he definately anwered my prayers. I was overcome with his love and it's hard to explainhow I felt but I knew the Book of Mormon was His Word. I know it now. And if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, if Joseph Smith is a prophet, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church.

How I live my faith

I am an adult leader for the young women (ages 12-18) in our church. I plan activities, help them with their struggles, love them, help them serve others, and try to help them become better each day. They do the same for me. I was dying for some new connections and friendships when we moved here so I also run a local playgroup so we can get to know other parents and get to make great friends. Some friends and I run a co-op pre-school where we trade kids around and have a blast doing it while saving a bit of money. My husband is our congregation's leader for the missionaries. He does whatever they need him to do. We love them and are thankful they are willing to leave their families, schooling, and other endeavors to go out, pay their own way, and serve the Lord. We try to teach our little ones to reach out to others. I worked in nursing homes for a time and was so sad to watch people deteriorate right before my eyes as they begged for someone, anyone, to come visit them. We make and effort a few times a year to draw pictures, take flowers, and go sing to elderly in our area. Recently we've decided to organize neighborhood help projects where we get all the neighbors together and help each other with projects. We're excited for this and hope it goes well!
