Hi I'm Whitney Long

I'm blonde. I think I'm funny and laugh at my own jokes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 25 yr old female. I came from a big family of nine. I have seven sisters and one brother. I love my family very much and we are very close! I was called to the Calgary Canada mission and leave January 16, 2013. I couldn't be more excited to serve the people there and bring them the good word that I was brought up in. I want them to know what I know and gain a testimony for themselves!! I love hiking, running, spending time with family, dancing, camping, hunting and occasionally fishing. I like to be active especially during the summer/fall. Its my favorite time of year. I graduated and have my Master Esthetics License. And I love food! (But ironically I'm a picky eater).

Why I am a Mormon

I've never had to think about "if" I believe, I always did and do! Knowing what I know, I could never doubt or deny that I have a Heavenly Father that KNOWS and LOVES me. It's the same with my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I don't doubt that He laid down His life for mine and the sins I've committed, the sorrow and heartache I feel or even the small insecurities I feel daily. The fact that I'm happy with my life and the choices I make is evidence enough of why I'm a Mormon. The guidance of the Spirit and his companionship helps me feel that love of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! I wouldn't give it up for anything!! THIS IS WHY I'M A MORMON!

How I live my faith

Where I've been raised in the gospel it is easy for me to follow "the basics": reading my scriptures every day, praying each morning and night, attending church meetings Sundays and going to the temple as much as possible. In my Young Single Adult ward my calling is a ward missionary.. Very fitting as I am to serve the people of Canada shortly! On Tuesday nights I go to an Institute of Religion class. The instructors are the best and I always walk away from the class wanting to be a better person! I always carry a prayer within my heart, knowing the evils of the world and that "Old Scratch" is always lurking close by. I surround myself with good friends and people that share my same faith. It's easy for us to get caught up in conversations about what we believe and share ideas, thoughts, feelings, and life experiences with each other! There is no way I could live in the world we live in today without my Heavenly Father and Savior as my advocates on my flanks!! Come to church and feel of the Spirit thats there.. It won't be like anything else you have felt and thats a good thing!! :)
