Hi I'm Jackie

I'm a student. I'm a daughter. I'm a thinker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six kids and have eight nieces and nephews with one on the way. I am definitely the favorite aunt-don't tell my sister! I am currently studying political science, economics, and French. I have played the harp since I was seven. I am also a musical buff and a Sutton Foster wanna-be. I think I might go into the foreign service or law or public policy or become a professor. Let's just say I have a lot to figure out. Also, my favorite book is Gone With the Wind, and I am a hopeless romantic.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a pretty logical person, and as a kid The Church just made sense. Everything in The Church taught children morals and values that would help them throughout the rest of their lives. Then, when I was 15 I felt the overwhelming power of the spirit, and The Church was no longer just a logical solution. In that moment I knew that The Church was the only way to obtain salvation. Without the Atonement there would be no possible way for us to rise above our human state, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Strictly. Some say I am a perfectionist, but I know I am just passionate. I know that this gospel is true, and I live every day in constant prayer. I can't understand Engel's Law in my economics class? I pray. I don't have the time to get everything done in the day? I pray. I don't have the energy to do any more homework? I pray. Prayer is the my most direct connection to my Heavenly Father, and I never get His answering machine.
