Hi I'm Demi

I was raised in the church and I grew up learning the Gospel. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing the flute and running. I have been playing for 8 years now. The reason I run is not because I find it "fun", but because it lets me escape from reality. It's a great stress reliever. I am the youngest child in my family and the only girl, tragic huh? Nah, I was spoiled rotten! My parents recently divorced but my siblings and I are all very close to each other and our mother. We have very strong family ties. At this point, nothing could break us! I grew up learning the Gospel and I love every bit of it! It has touched my life in too many ways to count. I am thankful for a family that loves me, a wonderful church family, and a Savior and Heavenly Father who love me. I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. When I was a little girl I was unsure, like most children, but as I grew older and approached the age of 8 I knew. A lot of people think that that is way too young to know the truth. I believe that the Lord opens the truth up to innocent young children a lot brighter than anyone else. I believe that He wants them to know so they can start living their life in the happiest and healthiest way they possibly can. As an adult, however, the Lord makes you work a little harder to fully understand it. There may be some habits that one might have to change or quit. But I believe that through strong faith and prayer and His love, one can truly find happiness. The Gospel has brought such joy and happiness to my life at such a young age. I haven't lived even half of my life yet. I know that I have many more trials and tribulations ahead of me but I'm not terrified. Yeah I am a little scared but I know that through the Lord, anything is truly possible. I truly believe that everything we do will be more than worth it. We just have to endure to the end. He will carry us through it. I know He loves me and every single one of his beloved children. All we have to do is seek Him and love Him.

How I live my faith

I strongly enjoy my callings in church. Although I am just a youth, I help out a lot. For example, I set an example to the other young women. As the leader among them, they look up to me for guidance and support. I also help many of the leaders with planning difficulties. I help keep things organized and running smoothly among the youth. Even though there are probably many older women who could do this, they also ask me to direct the hymns in sacrament meeting while the entire congregation sings. With my musical background throughout school and my mom being very musically talented, it's not really that difficult of a task for me. At first it was a little scary leading with all those eyes watching me for direction, but I love it. I strive to be an example to those around me, members or not. I just try to help anyone I can in whatever way I can. I also strive to be more and more like our Savior every single day. When choosing my actions and thoughts I strive to make them the most Christlike that I can.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Demi
I came to know that the church was true by a lot of praying. I read my scriptures, I pondered the meaning of them, and I prayed and prayed to know if they were true. The Holy Ghost delivered my answer in a very personal way. To this day, I have never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel. If you are seeking answers, i strongly consider reading, pondering, and a lot of praying. Show more Show less
