Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a college student, former ballet dancer, and Air Force 'brat.' I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Elementary Education and Special Education major in my sophomore year. I love to travel and have lived in Illinois; Misawa, Japan; Lakenheath, England; and now Utah! I was a ballet dancer for 11 years with Ballet West Academy. I love to read, play games, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the gospel is true. I was born into a member family but I have gained my own testimony through study, prayer, and the witness of the Holy Spirit. I'm a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that it was translated by the power of God through a prophet, Joseph Smith, and that we have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson. I love the feeling I get when I read the scriptures. The words are plain and true and bring peace to my heart. I want everyone to know that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally and a brother, Jesus Christ, who knows all their sorrows and heartaches, and exactly how to help them overcome those pains. The gospel brings joy to my life. I know my Father in Heaven loves me, and that He has revealed His plan to us so that we can return to live with Him and with our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading from my scriptures daily to remind myself of what the Lord wants me to do. I love the words of the Bible and the Book of Mormon and strive to follow the Savior's example. I live my faith by looking for opportunities to serve in my community, whether that's volunteering at a school, serving in my church callings, or small daily acts of service. I want to follow my Savior's example by serving my brothers and sisters.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are central to our Heavenly Father's plan for us. It is in families that we are taught the gospel. In our families we learn important values like honesty, obedience, service, and love. God gave us families to support, encourage, love, and teach us. Because He loves us, God has provided a way for us to be with our families forever! We can be sealed as families in the temple so that we can live together, and with God, for all eternity. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is the word of God. It is His word that has been revealed to His children through prophets. The Book of Mormon is a record of God's interactions with people on the American continent. Through the holy scriptures, we can come to know who God is and what He wants for us. The scriptures help me to understand the plan that my Heavenly Father has for me and how I can become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
