Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am learning Spanish. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I left behind everything at home and am now learning how to better serve the Lord's people as an LDS missionary. I left my family, my home, my schooling, and all of my friends to go to a foreign land and tell the people what I know, that this gospel is true and that Jesus Christ came to this earth to live and die for us. He loves us so much, and that's why I am now a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happy. I know that this happiness comes from following the commandments given to us by God. They do not restrict me, but liberate me to become a better person and focus on becoming like my Savior and Redeemer. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior because I have felt his love, his comfort, and his support throughout my life. No matter what trials I've gone through, or how many mistakes I have made, He has always been there for me with his arms outreached. I know that we are all children of God. As I've grown up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I have felt the Holy Ghost witness to me over and over again that this is Christ's church on the earth. The knowledge of Christ's restored church on this earth has brought me peace during times of turmoil, joy in times of sorrow, and love no matter what the circumstances may be. I have prayed to God to know that this is Christ's church, and I have received an answer. I know it is.

How I live my faith

At my college, I sing in a choir that is called Latter Day Voices. We sing for entertainment, but we also sing to share with others that God exists, that He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, and that He lives again. I also play the piano for one of the meetings during our regular Sunday church activities. I love being able to participate, even if it is in such a small way. I particularly enjoy spending time with other women in my area when I go visiting teaching. I get to know more of the women that live near me, and I often become close friends with them.
