Hi I'm Travis

I grew up in Salt Lake City, I love swimming and golfing, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like and do a wide variety of things. First and foremost, I love to read. I especially enjoy non-fiction and classics. I also play a lot of golf and have competed in swim meets since I was 6 years old. I am currently a student at the University of Utah and planning on going to Medical School.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. Plain and simple. The fullness of the gospel of Christ as restored by the prophet of Joseph Smith is what guides my life and I really think I have a great life. Out of all the ways to view why we are here, the gospel plan set forth by Christ is the one that allows me to correct my mistakes, create eternal bonds with my family, and have the possibility for eternal life. I love the gospel. I continue to keep learning and keep following His gospel because I believe it is right. More than I believe in anything, I believe in the gospel. It has made me the person I am today and I know it will shape me into becoming the person I want to be in the future.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being the best person I can be. I believe that God wants us to be the best possible versons of ourselves and so I am always looking for ways in which I can improve and grow. I have had many callings within the LDS church and I teach families within our neighborhood with another member of my ward every other week.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Momon is awesome. It really is. The reason I think this way is because the things which the gospel teaches and we as Mormons follow are the things that make me most happy. Family, I love my family. Within the LDS church, family is one of the biggest focuses. I want to be with my family forever and it is because of the restored gospel that I believe I am able to do that. Service, I enjoy giving back. I firmly believe that where much is given, much is expected and the church has provided me with countless ways to give back. Personal growth, it is because of the LDS church that I am the man I am today. I am able to change and grow continually and I am constantly finding out ways that I can be better through the teachings of the gospel. Being a Momon is great. It is true we don't smoke, drink, curse, etc. but we feel that those things are a small trade off for what the Lord has promised us in return for our faith. Show more Show less
