Hi I'm Kathy

I live in Chandler, AZ. I'm a grandmother to four gorgeous grandkids. Weekly, I work at the Mesa, AZ Temple. "I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I was born in Chisledon,Whilshire, England, but was raised in southern California. As a youth, my favorite place to escape to was the beach. While at the beach, I enjoyed playing two - four man sand volleyball and catching some sun. Also, I liked to go with my best friend down to the beach at night and sit by a fire pit, drink hot choclate, and enjoy visiting with all different kinds of people. The conversations were always interesting. If God would come up, my friend and I tried to understand their opinions about him and then we would share our testimonies with them. At the time, I didn't realize that I was actually doing missionary work. Now I'm mother of three and a grandmother of four. My husband and I are currently living in Chandler, AZ. Life moves more quickly these days and my interests have turned to being with or talking to (those who live far away) my family each day, serving the Lord by working in the Mesa, AZ Temple (soon to be working at the Gilbert, AZ Temple), and becoming a wife, mother, and grandmother that the Lord would like me to be. I work in a chiropractor's office as the front office person. I'm outgoing and a good listner (which is great for visiting teaching - LOL). My favorite temple activity is watching the youth come and do baptisms for the dead individually or with their families. Also, I love helping the adults realize their greatest joy and peace for sacrificing their time to come to the temple and become a strong force against the evil one.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was eight years old. Over time, my testimony has grown from line upon line. I always knew that Heavenly Father loved me, but I was a little slow to recognizing my full potential of his loving spirit until I had a major crisis. I have found him in sincere prayer, being consistent in attending the temple for fifteen years, and being optimistic with any situation. I know that God lives and I am grateful to be his daughter. I am grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and the value of the repentance process every day in my life. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the current prophet today and holds the keys of the priesthood which allows me to receive peace through his counsel. I know the Book of Mormon to be the only true book on the face of the earth. It is a second witness of Jesus Christ. This knowledge helps me stay on the right path. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to share my testimony to my family and others every day through my example.

How I live my faith

For the past twelve years or so, I have had the opportunity to serve in my ward's Primary program working with children from ages three to twelve. It has been a special blessing for me to see these young men and women grow up and participate within the church; especially when I see the young men bless and pass the sacrament worthly. Also, I enjoy doing my visiting teaching each month and/or whenever they need me (I'm always there and ready to help). I was taught at a young age by my parents that it is better to go after the lost sheep then to wait and loose them. I also have a great love for genealogy and being able to do their temple work for them. I enjoy reading the scriptures and doing Family Home Evening with our grandson. It is amazing to me how much they can learn at such a young age. His favorite song right now is "Praise to the Man." He loves to sing it as loud as he can because that is how the Mormon Tabernacle sings it during conference.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is an organization found within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It allows women from 18 years and older to come together and learn how to build their faith, strengthen home and families, and give help (charity) to others. Here we can also learn ideas on how to become better wives, mothers, and women of the church. We do this by learning from our current/past prophets, current/past Relief Society presidencies and sisters throughout the church, and from the scriptures. Show more Show less
