Hi I'm Mary Pettingill

Hi! I am a Mormon. I have a beautiful family and am so happy living our Heavenly Fathers plan. I love golf and people!!

About Me

I was blessed in being born and raised in an L.D.S. home. We are told that we are each born with at least one gift or talent and my gift was that of testimony. I have always known that my Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy! I have total trust in my Heavenly Father because my earthly father was an incredible man and taught me through example what really matters in this life. He always put others first and like our Heavenly Father loved unconditionally. I loved school and all it entailed and after one year of college I married my best friend. Our life together was not always a bed of roses but we took marriage seriously and always worked things out. The best of times in our life together have been raising great kids, golfing together, and seeing many wonderful places in our beautiful world. Challenges come and challenges go but with the help of my Heavenly Father I have been able to see the blessings that are on the horizon----always seeing the good with the bad .I feel safe being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know I will never be alone. No matter where I am in the world I have fellow members who are brothers and sisters! I love knowing why I am here and where I am going and what the reason for earth life is. It makes life so much easier to continue on when one grows weary. Yes I love life and look forward to each phase I enter---and looking back I am grateful for what I have learned

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be happy! I KNOW that my Heavenly Father lives and has a plan for me. I know He watches over me knowing my strengths and weaknesses and allows me to grow through blessings as well as through trials. I was blessed with a testimony at a very young age and have always tried to please my Heavenly Father. Even though I know I am anything but perfect and fall more often than I stand, I know that Father will never give up on me. I am a Mormon because it makes life easier. Too many rules you ask? Absolutely not! The only thing my Savior asks me to do are the things that are good for me. He gives me a path that is safe. Difficult? Yes at times it can be, but it is always easier with less heartache than the other trail. Our Heavenly Father knows the beginning to the end and I trust He will pick me up when I stumble. Why am I a Mormon? Because I remember just enough from my premortal life to know that I want more. I want what I know I am capable of becoming. This life on earth, within a mortal body, will help me to learn by falling down and getting up again and growing through all my weaknesses.I have been promised that if I love my Savior and continue trying, I will be strong enough and worthy to live with my Heavenly Father once again. I wait for the day that I will be in His arms knowing that with His help and love I did enough.

How I live my faith

My love has always been working with the youth. Sometimes when kids reach the age when mom and dad don't "know quite as much as they use to", it's good to be in a position to step in and re-enforce mom and dad and help the youth through challenging times. These youth programs help to keep positive influences going into their lives when there are so many outside voices trying to confuse them. I love spending the time and seeing my relationship grow with these kids and knowing my children are being cared for in the same way. Recently I have been able to work on the opposite end of the spectrum as I have served the elderly in a retirement home. So many of these wonderful people who have lived such honorable lives are left to their own resources as their families struggle to meet all the demands of life. All it takes is a listening ear, a caring heart, a kiss on the cheek and a little time and you have a friend forever. I have learned so much from their experiences in life. My time spent there several times a week gives back to me more than I ever am able to give to them. They are so appreciative of the simplest things I can do. Everyone needs to feel loved and cared about no matter what the age young or old, and I come out the winner every time!
