Hi I'm Kristine

I love adventures and being a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love it! I am honored to share the Lord's Gospel with the people around me. Each day I learn and grow closer to my Savior. Each day I feel Him strengthening and guiding me. That alone is a great blessing. I put my university studies on hold so I can focus all my energy to serving as the Lord's missionary. I was studying journalism and photography. I hope to make a career photographing and writing feature stories about unlikely people. Playing the guitar is one of my greatest stress-relievers. I like to run, and I used to race. Taking pictures and then painting those pictures is something I enjoy doing. Having fun with people I love is my favorite, especially if the outdoors is involved. I am the oldest of six kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is His church. I am a Mormon because being one brings me happiness and peace. The Gospel is true, it's right, it feels good, and it makes sense. My parents are Latter-day Saints, as well as my entire family, so I was taught Mormonism from my youth. But as I grew older, I wanted to know for myself. I never doubted it's truth, but I did not know with all my soul. When I was young, I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I did not feel that it was true at that moment. I kept believing and while I read the Book of Mormon, I felt peace that its teachings are true and right. I built a strong foundation in my youth. I continue to feel of the Gospel's truth. When my foundation of faith was tested, I knew who to turn to: only Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know He came to earth and took my (and your) sins, physical and other pains, and weaknesses upon Him. I know that because He felt all my fears, weaknesses, and sorrow, He knows how to succor me. I know that He heals because He has healed me. I know that He can take away my sorrow because He has. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I am a Mormon because I couldn't live without the fullness of the Gospel. I am a Mormon because I know that it will all work out.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by praying, studying the Lord's word in His scriptures, and doing my best to reach out to the people around me. I have tried my best to always live my faith by acting in a way that would make our Savior pleased with me. Several years ago I visited the Marshall Islands, a magnificant string of islands with beautiful, friendly people. After returning home, I organized a book drive in my community. We shipped hundreds of needed children's books to the Marshallese children. I used to teach and serve a group of women as part of our weekly church meetings. I love participating in service projects such as clearing hiking trails and weeding gardens.

In whom should we have faith?

Have faith in Jesus Christ and God your Eternal Father. I have tried to act on what I think would be best. I once relied a lot on other people. I used to have faith that situations would work out a specific way. I realized that I was putting some of my faith in other people and circumstances. I learned the hard way that people change and circumstances sometimes do not work out the way I want. I know the only one I can rely on is God. I know this because God is unchanging. I know this because He is qualified for the job. Christ came to earth and took upon Him all of my weaknesses and sins so that He would know how to heal me. Christ and Heavenly Father know me, my heart, and who I can become through faith. If Jesus and Heavenly Father know and love me so well, then of course they love you! Turn to the Lord, and you will find His arms outstretched towards you. Show more Show less

What is faith?

In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Lehi has a dream called the Vision of the Tree of Life. In his dream, the people seeking God held to the Iron Rod, which represents the Gospel. At times, mists of darkness (temptations of the Adversary) shrouded their view. The people had to hold tight to the Rod, and then step into the darkness. That is faith: Stepping forward without seeing the next steps, but knowing all will be well because you are walking with God. Faith is believing in something, which causes you to act. We have to choose faith over doubt and fear in order to progress. Faith is putting your trust and confidence in God. God will keep His promises to you. I am moving forward in faith by choosing to serve a mission. I have faith that Heavenly Father will guide me and sustain me. I have faith that I will receive blessings for my service, even though I don't know when what those blessings will be. Show more Show less
