Hi I'm Christian

I'm from Spain. I'm studying Telecommunications Engineering. I also love languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a university student, I'm studying Telecommunications Engineering. I have a passion for learning foreign languages, the ones in my list are: English, Spanish, Greek, French, German, Japanese, Finnish and Mandarin Chinese. Hobbies: Chess, Piano, Sports (soccer, tennis...), Manga/Anime. I'm the eldest of a family of 6 children. I love my family and my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Every time I read the Book of Mormon I feel God has a message for me inside. Guidance for my life. I also prayed about it, and my feelings in prayer and reading were and are always positive. I also have a testimony that living the commandments is the only way to true and lasting happiness. And I know so because I live them and I can see the difference with those who don't keep the commandments. I feel the Holy Ghost every time I'm at Church, and the Church seeks to exploit my full potential, to make me the best person I can ever be. I've attended other Churches and read different philosophical books. I seek to understand everyone's point of view. But up until now, nothing that I have experienced/learned about can match what I find inside the Church. We have answers to so many religious questions, starting with: "where do we come from?", "what's my purpose in life?" and "where am I going?". We have people willing to sacrifice from their time and talents to help others. And especially, I feel my true identity in the Church: I feel valued, important, because as the Church teaches, I'm a child of God, and in His Church I feel that he really cares for me. I know my potential. I know who I am. I know what to do. This is all because I'm a Mormon, and I'm eternally grateful for that.

How I live my faith

I served a mission to Greece and Cyprus, it was the best thing I've done so far in my life. My Dad passed away just upon returning from my mission. Because of my faith, I was happy despite our loss, I was grateful that God had kept him just enough for him to see me again before his cancer finished him. Because of my faith I strive to always give my best performance, be it in school or socially. I believe in and defend total honesty and I never cheat. I also dedicate and consecrate every Sunday for spiritual purposes: attending Church, visiting members, going out with the missionaries... Even though I don't study or work on Sundays, I score as good grades as I would if I did. I know the Church is true and therefore do my best to live the gospel. I also know that my future spouse must be willing to live the gospel of Jesus Christ fully, i.e. to participate actively in the Church. I want my family to be eternal and want to strive along with my companion to achieve that. I want to measure up to my future spouse too, I want to be worthy and loyal to her.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Christian
We believe He appeared in the American continent, we don't know if that was North, Central or South America (as we know it today). The story of His ministry there is beautiful and a must-read: 3 Nephi chapters 11 to 18 (Book of Mormon, pages 427-444) I have felt the Holy Ghost witness unto me that this account is true. Read, ponder and pray about it, you can know too! Show more Show less
