Hi I'm Linda Rae Baxter

I am the mother of six, grandmother of 14. I will soon go on a mission for the church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small town in Idaho. My father was a truck driver and had a small farm. My mother was my best friend, and I shared all my secrets with her. I have one brother. I enjoyed raising my six children and found that they were each unique and special. I have enjoyed sewing, cooking, and decorating my home. I enjoy writing and am currently working of my life story. I also enjoy writing poetry, but it only comes when I am touched by the spirit. Living the gospel has become a “way of life” to me, and the reason for everything I’ve accomplished.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My ancestors found the gospel, and had the courage to accept its teachings. I am proud of such a noble heritage! One of the greatest joys to me is that families can be together forever. Death is not an end to existence but a beginning of something greater. The life and death of the Savior play an important role in my testimony, and fill my life with purpose. I know that his example and teachings extend on from the Bible, to the Book of Mormon. It gives me comfort to know that He continues to lead his church today through modern day prophets and apostles who receive direction and revelation from him. It is the same church that the Savior established when he lived on earth, and is led with the same priesthood authority that existed then. I know his church has been restored to the earth by the prophet, Joseph Smith, who was ordained to this ministry in the pre-existence. When the Savior was on the earth in ancient times, would you have had the courage to accept his teaching and follow him?” He’s directing his church today and I have listened to his teachings and learned of him.

How I live my faith

The Saviors life was a great example to all of us. His life was about service and love. I have enjoyed many blessings from serving in the church. It has put life in its proper perspective to have a focus on others. I’ve been able to work closely with the women, the youth, and the children as I’ve served in many responsibilities given to me. There have been fun times and activities that brought laughter and happy tears for me and my family. There are so many ways we get caught up the worldly things. Studying the scriptures, praying, and reaching out to others each day, has lifted me beyond the worldly and into a spiritual place of peace and joy. With every opportunity I’ve had in living the gospel, I have grown and become a better person.
