Hi I'm Macey

I love to be with my family. I study advertising, Ukrainian and Russian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up being the second-oldest in my family. I have 4 brothers. My parents are divorced and my family will always be one of the most important things in my life. I study at University. My major is Communications with Russian as a minor, and I know Ukrainian as well. I love swimming and running and just being out with my friends and with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being a member of this church. I always believed on the testimonies of those around me and never doubted. One day when I was about 14 years old I decided that I wanted to say the words "I know that this church is the true church of God." rather than saying " I believe that this church is the true church of God." That's when I decided to really find out for myself. I prayed and read the Book of Mormon, that's why I'm a Mormon. When I asked if the Book of Mormon is the true word of God I knew through the peace and love I felt in my heart that the Book of Mormon is divine scripture and the word of God. Now being older and seeing time pass, I can look back on my life and recognize that everything that I have in my life that is good is from God. Through trials in my life I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and all of his children. That He, indeed, wants us to be happy and guilt free in life. That's why He sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for us--to Atone for the sins of the world--so that we don't need to feel pain and sorrow in this life. He wants us to be happy, and to feel his love daily. One way that He shows us his love, is through prophets. Joseph Smith was called and ordained of God to be the prophet of the restoration of truth, and today we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who leads all people under the direction of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon, which was translated by Joseph Smith by the power of God, is the truest book on the earth today and evidence of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ, which has been established by Christ himself.

How I live my faith

By acting in faith with the knowledge that everything will be according to the will of our Heavenly Father, I have found that I gain strength and knowledge; and I recognize His divine presence in my life. I know that we are all divine children of our Heavenly Father who loves us more then we can every imagine, that's why he sent his only Begotten Son to atone for us. I help people understand these principles everyday through actions and words. I live my faith by sharing what I know.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Macey
We are taught that on Sunday we should always dress our best for church, to show respect to our Heavenly Father. Sunday best usually consists of a modest skirt of dress for grils and women. For men and boys a button down shirt and a tie with dress slacks, maybe a suit or a sport coat. Simple but elegant. As a church we celebrate Christmas and Easter because, for us they represent the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His resurrection, the final part of the Atonement. Any other holidays that we celebrate are just the holidays of the country we live in. We also celebrate our birthday and anniversiaries. Celebrating holidays allows us to come together and to get to know one another better and feel of God's love for us through being with eachother. Show more Show less
