Hi I'm Trevor Dickson

I'm a student, a concert goer, a sports fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at the University of Utah working towards a degree in Computer Science. I just returned home from my mission in September 2015. I served two years in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and I loved it! I love hanging out with friends, going to rock concerts, watching sports, watching movies and playing video games with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family and have been going to church ever since. I followed all of the examples as a child, maybe not knowing exactly what I was doing. Now that I'm 20, I have come to know the truth for myself, and I wouldn't give it up for the world. In a world where there is much confusion, where many are looking for answers and not being able to find it, religion place the part of a missing puzzle piece. The world sometimes tends to push away religion as a thing of little importance, yet I have felt peace in a world of so much affliction. The gospel of Jesus Christ lived to its fullest, purest form, is the only source of eternal peace and comfort. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church on the face of the earth to hold the authority of God to administer the church of the Living Christ. I have found this out for myself through sincere prayer and divine answers from God, and no one else. My parents have made it very clear that my religion is my own choice and that they are not forcing me to part of this church by any means at all. I am choosing to be a member, and I am serving a mission so that I can share this message to others. This gospel has shaped my life, and definitely made me the man that I am today.

How I live my faith

I currently live 2000+ miles away from my family in a small part of the world in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I´m here because I love the gospel that I have been taught. I know that the Lord wants me to share His gospel with everyone, and I know that it is my responsibility to help out this great cause. I have left behind all comforts of home, my family, and my friends, and I have ventured into a place where everyday comforts in the United States don´t exist. Many houses don´t even have access to running water or electricity for many hours during the day, and cars are a luxury item that only the wealthy have. In a climate of 95° F yearly average, only the well-off families can afford air conditioning. I have left my comfort zone many times, learning to live with people of a culture 100% different than mine, and learning to love them, including learning their language in less than a year. I do all of this all because I know that this gospel is true, and I want everyone to find that out for themselves.
