Hi I'm Christopher

I am growing up in Alaska which I am absolutely loving my home-state and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hey I'm Christopher! So I was born and raised in the amazing but cold "land of the midnight sun" aka Alaska. However, during my time as a missionary in Lyon, France my family moved from Alaska to Idaho. As far as family goes, I have 4 brothers and my only sister is the oldest. Yep, I'm the 5th of 6 children. My family is definitely one of the most important things in my life. I'm currently finishing up my mission, however I'm excited to go home and start up the new chapter in my life. Personally I enjoy passing time by reading, listening to music, playing soccer, basketball, hiking, movies, or simply talking to people (my parents say I do that a little too much, especially when I was in school!). Currently don't know what I want to do with my life after the mission. Obviously lots of people would say "get rich" which is handy, but I believe that you can choose your own state of happiness no matter what you have.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. Plain and simple. Without the church I don't know what or where I'd be right now. Seeing the Church standards then the "worlds standards" makes me feel like a special son of Heavenly Father. My family has been a huge inspiration to me and I am so thankful and overly blessed to have them and wonderful friends. All my brothers who have gone on their missions and are still currently serving are still (and always will be) a blessing to me. I believe the Lord has truly shown that I am not alone; my family is here with me on Earth. I am a child of God, and he has sent me here with parents kind and dear. I'd like to share my testimony that I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church on this Earth. I love the gospel and am so glad that I am a member of this beautiful church. I know that Joseph Smith was and still is a true prophet. The priesthood has been restored and that is truly amazing to me. I also know that this church is of God and that He loves us and knows who we are. We are His children. I know that through repentance and prayer, we can "Come unto Christ". I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Pre-mission life was definitely interesting as far as "living my faith". So I would go to church, read scriptures, pray, attend seminary, youth activities, watch general conference, etc. It actually wasn't until my mission that I realized just how much my life has been affected by living according to the Lord's standards and not the world's. It never ceases to amaze me how much our example can impact someone else's life. Being a missionary in France is/was definitely eye opening to the fact of not everyone has the gospel in their lives. You can improve someone else's life simply by talking to them about problems, what they believe, or how they had/Have the strength to overcome difficulties. I currently live my faith by being a full-time Christian. I say full-time because many people in this world believe that Sunday is the only day we need to practice our beliefs. Sunday truly is a holy day, but we should practice our beliefs all the time. Christ didn't keep God's commandments for only 1 day a week, but all the time. So we should follow His example, and that's what I try to do even though I'm definitely not perfect.
