Hi I'm Ashley

East Coast born and raised. Passionate about loving others and making a difference. Perpetual night owl. Optimist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in the process of finding out what I can contribute to this world. I believe in doing what is right, even when it is hard. I believe in helping others; especially those that are often overlooked or displaced. As a recipient of such self-less love, I can attest to the power we have when we see others the way the Savior does. I was adopted and know the value of having a loving family and of having the light of the Gospel in my life. I love dancing in my kitchen to music as I bake some kind of yummy treat to share...for truly the world seems a lot friendlier when there are cookies baking in the oven. I am without fail the girl that cannot help but ooh and ah over adorable babies. I endorse laughing until tears are streaming down your face. I surround myself with people that love and support me and strive to do the same for them. I am imperfect and am prone to worry; but nonetheless trust that everything will work out as long as I prove faithful. I have many dreams and plans for my life. More than anything though, I am excited to one day be a wife and mother. I am a talker, a listener, a well-wisher, and a dreamer. Above all, I love Jesus Christ and am grateful for His unreserved love for me and for all of His children around the world. What better example of compassion, mercy, and love do we have than Him?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and comfort it gives me in this constantly changing world. This beautiful Gospel message speaks such simple truth to my mind. When I feel like my pain or troubles are not understood, I am reminded that they are fully understood and taken care of through and by Jesus Christ. I am reminded of how much I am loved. I am reminded of how my Savior and your Savior, loved me enough to die for me. I have a testimony that true happiness comes through knowing our Savior on a personal level. As we come to know him through prayer and scripture study, nothing in this world can get us down! His light and love will always be readily accessible. I have a testimony of how much we all need each other. We can be sources of strength in the lives of those that we come in contact with. We can truly make a difference as we smile, uplift, and help those that we come in contact with. I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is indeed a true book and like Prophets of old, I cannot and will not deny it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for ways to be a blessing in the lives of others. I live my faith through what I say, in what I do, and in what I someday hope to do. I try to love others as best as I can and let Christ make up the difference. Through my daily prayer and scripture study, I draw closer to and strengthen my relationship with my Savior.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Latter-Day Saints believe that the family is the central unit of society. In our families, we are loved and we learn correct principles to live by. Our families were designed to give us comfort, as well as to be a source of strength in this crazy world of ours. We believe that families can be together forever. This means that the love and bonds that we share with our family members are not severed at death. We do not believe in "till death do us part". Instead, we believe that we will again return and dwell with our lived ones in Heaven. We believe that belonging to a family can and should be one of the greatest joys in our lives.
