Hi I'm Evonne

I'm happy. I love humor. I love my amazing family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am just a country girl from Idaho--raised on a family farm. I learned to care for animals, harvest spuds, haul hay and milk cows. After graduating from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, I left for the green pasture of BYU where I fell in love--twice! My first love was found in the college of nursing where I received training and graduated and started working in labor and delivery--my passion. Soon after I fell in love with my husband-to-be--John. He became my first love and my career moved to second love. I have had a lot of private practice as we have raised our 8 children. I love family outings. I love visiting with each of my children and grand children. I love sewing, singing, hiking, biking and reading. I can get lost in a good book and love to share interesting titles with my children and children-in-law. I love to think up funny things to say to lighten the mood. I am known for some funny accents and often hear my children say, "Mom, you're kind of weird!"

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who are still living--at 94 and 93. They raised us on homemade bread, homemade clothes and homemade fun. We felt rich as we rode on the top of a load of day after a hot dusty day in the hay field. We loved swimming in the nearby swimming hole in the Sand Creek. I had a care free and blessed childhood. I had my testimony start from the day I was born. I always trusted that my Heavenly Father loved me because I felt so much love in my earthly home. As I grew I realized that not everyone had this blessing of faith. I feel so grateful to my parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles who shared this heritage of faith and trust in God. I come from a great heritage of faithfulness. I also feel that I want to tell the world of the blessings of being in a family that is faithful to each other. Anyone can start where they are to live a life of faithfulness and enjoy the pure joy of righteous living. God gives us each a chance to start fresh and trust Him to help us.

How I live my faith

I feel like I was born with a believing heart. My parents raised me in a home full of faith, trust and music. I had a tender heart and was natually a shy child. I always felt safe with my parents and siblings and still feel close to my siblings. I have always felt a desire to live the commandments outlined in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel like I am a peacemaker. I want all people to have an opportunity to have a peaceful and happy life. I have served in many Church assignments. My favorites are in the Primary--our organization for children 18 months to 12 years. I love singing the beautiful Primary music. I love telling stories to Primary children. Right now I am serving in the nursery--the class for children 18 months to 3 years old. I have been serving for about 3 years now and I hope to stay much longer. I love those little teensies. They are so loving and individual. It's fun to watch them grow and learn. I am reminded of the Savior's words, "Let the little children come unto me."
