Hi I'm Jon

I love challenging my mind, improving my body, reading great books, and talking to interesting people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in South Florida for most of my life. I love to play water polo, swim, and ride my bicycle. Learning is extremely important to me, and I strive to better myself through schooling, reading, and experiencing life. Right now, I have put off studying Economics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in order to serve a two year mission in Brasilia, Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ, restored in these latter days, just makes sense. All the pieces fit together perfectly. It is perfectly logical. It is simple. It allows me to understand where I came from, why I am here on Earth, and where I will go after I die. It gives me an eternal perspective on life that keeps me afloat on life's rough seas. It gives me peace and a firm resolution that I will be able to be with my family forever. It has allowed me to have a personal relationship with a Heavenly Father who is an actual, defined Being who loves me and knows me more completely than anyone could possibly know me. The biggest reason why I am a Mormon, however, is because I have felt the Gospel's truthfulness confirmed to me by the Holy Ghost. I know that it is true. Nothing can or will change that fact. Our Heavenly Father does answer prayers. He has answered mine.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ is my example. My goal is to become like Him. It is to do the things that He would do, say the things that He would say, and treat others the way that He would treat them. Each day, I try my hardest to reach my goal. I study my scriptures, try to give meaningful service, and be an example of what it means to take upon oneself the name of Christ. Even though I won't be able to achieve my goal during this life, I know that I can constantly improve and progress. I know that through the Atonement of Christ, I can overcome my weaknesses.
