Hi I'm Jeremy

I grew up in Morristown. Served a full time proselyting mission for the church in the Utah Provo Mission from 1998-2000.

About Me

I grew up in a small city with a population of, now, 30,000. I attended public school, and was raised in a modest home by parents who earned a modest income. Dad worked in factories and did odd jobs sometimes. Mom worked for a non-profit shelter for domestically abused women. I grew up alongside my only sibling, a brother, who is 18 months younger than I. My working career began as a cook at a little restaurant when I was fifteen. I have been almost continuously employed since then at various factories here in town and in a few other places in Tennessee. But, I believe that my best employ was when I served for two years at my own expense (and the help of friends) for the Church. I did some great work then. I remarried at age 33, and am currently loving life. I am now the beneficiary of my wife's four children, and we have a baby of our own on the way. We have recently procured my grandparents' house, and are living the American dream. I work at a furniture factory and my wife teaches elementary school. We both have responsibilities in the Church and are very happy together. We look forward to an eternity of togetherness, love, and creation.

Why I am a Mormon

After being an active participant at church, for example: teaching classes, giving talks, praying in behalf of the group, I have felt in my heart the virtue of these practices. As I have engaged in these practices, I have also sought, through study and prayer, to understand the doctrines of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Church. With great contemplation and scrutiny, and by the overwhelming influence of the Holy Spirit of God, I have determined and discerned (spiritually and empirically) that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored organization of God's covenant people upon the earth, and this, in preparation for the second coming of the Messiah.

How I live my faith

I strive to live like the Savior lived, by serving my family, church, and community. I help instruct a class of 12 to 14 year old boys at church, and I also serve as a scoutmaster for the church-chartered troop. With the scouts, I oversee and work with the boys doing community service. In my capacity as an "under shepherd" in our local ward congregation, I make periodic visits to several families. I encourage them to take an active part in the church and support the cause of Christ. I strive to be a witness for the Savior and speak of him whenever I have opportunity.
