Hi I'm Elder Simpson (Josh Simpson)

I'm a Tuba Player, a lefty, an amateur Cribbage Player, and a Mormon! :)

About Me

Hello! A little about me, I love to spend time with my family and also to just have fun. I'm kinda quiet at times, but mostly I just like to be loud and just try to be funny (most of the time, I don't succeed). I am right now on my mission in Ohio. My mission takes up the Northern third of Ohio, along with some of this churches early sites, such as the Kirtland Temple. It's fun to talk about the gospel, because it's something that I really love. I just want to say that I know that this Gospel is true. Just as Christ set up His church when he was here on earth, He set it up AGAIN, back to its original form (Restored), through the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. This church is guided today by the Savior Himself, through a Living, Modern-day Prophet. Just as we have the bible, we also have another form of scripture, the Book of Mormon; which proves that the Lord's church has been restored. Read and Pray to God and ask if it's true. Millions have, you can, too! ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this Gospel. I know that God, The Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, And the holy ghost, all live today and are three separate beings! I know that christ suffered, died and rose again for us that we may return back to our Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith Did see God and His Son, Jesus, in the sacred grove, and that, in the life in heaven before this life on earth, Joseph was chosen to bring forth the restoration of Christ's true gospel on the earth, through the divine, graceful power of God! I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by God through Joseph Smith and is the most correct of any book ever written, is comparable to the Bible, is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ, and is the key to salvation by the love of God, which is Christ! I know that through the restoration, the true and full-one-hundred-percent priesthood (power of God to Man) is restored again and that the modern day prophets, seers, and revelators are inspired men of God and receive revelation for the Kingdom of God and it's inhabitants, which are the members of the church and Gospel. I love my Godhead, my family, and this Gospel!

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter-day saints! I have been a member of the Lord's Gospel my whole life, born and raised! I strive to do my best for my family, my community, my country, and my God, my savior, and their holy spirit. I will be honest, I'm not perfect at all. Every time I do something dumb, pathetic, or very sinful, I always feel guilty for doing those things. But once I receive a broken heart and a contrite spirit, I know and feel the Lord's love for me. And with that knowledge and encouragement, I can not only strive and do better, but I may repent of my sins because of what my savior, Jesus Christ, has done for me. I know my redeemer lives and, loves all of us, and I know that Heavenly Father loves us, his children, and we may return to live with him again!! If there are any of you that are in need of anything like heavenly fathers and our saviors love, you can have it!! Just keep the faith! And keep looking at this site, follow the missionaries, and read the Book of Mormon. If you read those words, ponder them in your heart, and ask God, your Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, if these things are NOT true, the Holy Ghost will testify of its eternal truthfulness, and that it is the Word of God!!!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Elder Simpson (Josh Simpson)
So that they may receive a remission of their sins in and through the Son of Man, who is Jesus Christ. Many Christians believe that they have already been baptized, but, through the proper priesthood authority from God, we baptize those who gain Faith and have Repented, and also give unto them, by that same priesthood, and laying on of hands, the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Elder Simpson (Josh Simpson)
Because it shows our devotion to God that, through faith, we are willing to sacrifice a portion of our income. If we do this, then God will bless us with many blessings throughout our lives. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Elder Simpson (Josh Simpson)
The Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is a volume of Holy Scripture. It is about a civilization, that God had led out of Jerusalem, and their dealings, on the ancient continents of North and South America; as well, is the single MOST correct book on the face of this Earth. But, the most Crowning and Sacred event is the Personal Visitation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after His Resurrection and Ascension into heaven. Just as the Bible has the Old and New Testaments, The Book of Mormon is Another, or a Third, Testament of Jesus Christ! If God Loved the world, He would not only send His Son to a portion of His Children, BUT TO ALL!!! Those that read these pages of the Book of Mormon, ponder the principles and doctrines within, and ask God, our Eternal Father, with a sincere Heart, with real intent, Having Faith and in the Name of Jesus Christ, will know the truth of it by the Power of the Holy Ghost (Feelings of Peace, Love, and Joy). What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Elder Simpson (Josh Simpson)
"We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, as long as it is translated correctly; We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God." (Articles of Faith 1:5) The Bible is the word of God; Nothing can replace it. Just, over time, the translations of men have defiled the many plain and simple things that God had already set in motion, through His Son, Prophets, and the Holy Ghost. If the Bible did not exist, neither would the Book of Mormon. If these sacred scriptures did not exist, both Christ's church in the past and now would cease to exist. Therefore, it is wisdom in God that the work continues forward. We do not discount the Bible, but see that as two testaments of Christ, just as the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants (Modern Day Scripture), and the Pearl of Great Price (Some Translations of the Old Testament in the Bible). As well, just as there was an Open Cannon of Scripture in the days of Christ, there continues, as through the Restoration, a similar Open Cannon of Scripture throughout the Kingdom, by the Prophets set apart by the Deity Himself.
