Hi I'm Ian Day

I'm a businessman, a husband, a father, grandfather, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My faith affects every facet of my life and helps me to live each day with real purpose. It helps me to be a better person, a better husband and father. My wife and I are still novices at the grand parenting thing and have a one year old granddaughter and find joy in our family. The Gospel of Jesus Christ confirms to us that God loves us as His children and within His plan for us is the principle that family relationships can last forever. The assurance that we have that families can be forever encourages us to work at our family relationship through both good times and bad. We cannot afford to fall out as with God's blessing He intends we should be forever a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God and that two thousand years ago He came to earth to live among men and show us by example a better way to live. During His time on the earth He taught His message (the Gospel) and established His church so that through its organisation the Gospel could be preached to many and that that work would continue even after His death. He invited others to help Him and gave them authority. History tells us that whilst His message was accepted by a few humble followers. It was rejected by the masses and Jesus and His apostles were put to death and there was a corruption of His teachings (Apostacy). I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored again in our day and that that same authority which Jesus first gave to His apostles in ancient times is here upon the earth again. We live in a day when God again speaks once more to us as His children through a living prophet and apostles. I have listened to and followed the counsel they give and it has enriched and blessed my life. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are witnesses as to the divinity of Jesus Christ and His message and together are an evidence that these things are true. That which is contained in these books of scripture has helped me to find answers to life's greatest questions, who am I, where did I come from, why am I here and where am I going after life is over. I invite you to read and prayerfully consider these things for yourself.

How I live my faith

In daily living I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Service and love were the hallmarks of His life. He was the perfect son of God. I love to serve others and find the greatest peace in my life comes when I am busy helping someone else. It helps me keep my own problems in perspective and to realise that there are many who do not enjoy things I sometimes take for granted. Of course I don't always get it right and when I make mistakes or take a wrong turn in life the Gospel assures me that I can change and with the Saviour's help I can find the right path once more and again enjoy the peace that Gospel living brings.
