Hi I'm Connor Lloyd Andreasen

I love to work hard and earn the things I need, and two traits about me are smiling and being happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 22 years old, and one of my favorite things to do is go running and swimming. I have an older brother and twin sister who are great examples to me, and I have wonderful parents who have taught me strong ideals and morals from an early age. I served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Oklahoma, Tulsa area, and I have come to love the people there and hope to return someday. I have been married since December 12th, 2015 to my wonderful wife and best friend Alyssa, who also served a mission in the Philippines, Naga area. I truly believe that we go through the hardships and trials of this life to help strengthen us and help us gain an appreciation for those times when our lives are at peace. I have a firm desire to keep improving and trying new things, and I am grateful for the good work ethic that my parents have instilled in me. I have a firm belief that a positive attitude can turn any situation into something to rejoice in, and a little smile goes a long way.

Why I am a Mormon

I went through a period of time when my testimony and my faith began to waver, and I started to question and doubt certain teachings of the Church. But the day came when I realized something that had been right in front of me my entire life. I looked at my amazing family, the wonderful area I lived in, the kind friends I had, and I realized that it was only because of the strong religious background that I have had since I was born that has allowed me to have such a blessed, truly happy life, as opposed to those times where I made bad decisions and choices and that fake happiness barely lasted an hour. That was when I came to know the love and compassion my Lord and Savior has for me, and that if I strived to be a worthy young man and strived to live as He did, that I would continue to find that true, everlasting happiness that He offers.

How I live my faith

I went through the Scouting program in my youth from a Cub Scout to an Eagle Scout, and it has taught me how a boy becomes refined and changed into an honorable man. Growing up I went through all of the Quorums of the Church, serving in leadership capacities in all of them, and I am now an Elder and I look for service opportunities wherever I can find them. It was one of the most spiritually powerful and uplifting experiences of my life. I know that all of this has been made possible only through my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who has given me the direction and spiritual guidance to live in accordance with the qualities and duties that each of these callings possessed.

Are Mormons Christians?

Connor Lloyd Andreasen
The definition of being a Christian is believing in Jesus Christ and having Him as the key, fundamental figure for worship. As a Mormon, I believe in him as my Redeemer, the man who gave His life and His time to ensure that I would be happy for eternity, not just in this life. He is the one who listens to me, who supports me even when I forget to turn to Him for advice and strength. I consider myself, a Mormon, as a Christian, because I know that it is only through Jesus Christ that I am able to enjoy this life and to have the faith and testimony that I do of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Connor Lloyd Andreasen
My faith in Jesus Christ didn't manifest over night. It didn't come to me one day suddenly and unexpectedly. My faith in Him came through the small yet very strong experiences that I've had over the 18 years I've been alive and growing. Where once I used my parents faith and testimony as my own, certain things happened that allowed me to be receptive to the Spirit of God and allowed me to see Christ as my Lord and Savior. It took prayer and careful observation to the strong examples that my parents, friends, and neighbors were setting for me in order for me to finally allow myself to see His influence in my life. When I did Track and the Swim Team in highschool, I noticed that at the times when I felt like I was about to give up and fail, something would rise up in me and convince me to keep going, to not give up. When I have experienced trauma and misery in my life, and I have had no one else to turn to, I felt His Spirit and love with me, telling me that everything would be ok. At those moments, I was not fully aware that it was Christ helping me, but now that I have allowed my heart to be changed and my faith to manifest, I know without a doubt that He has been with me since I was born, and He will be with me in the end of this life, and eternity to come. It was the decision to open my heart to this idea of an unseen, loving Heavenly Father that allowed my faith to soar. Show more Show less
