Hi I'm Brooks Moore

I grew up in Birmingham and attended the University of Alabama and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1971. I have five children and 8 grandchildren. There is nothing I'd rather do than be with my family. I love our country and it's inspired constitution. I love college football and I'm an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. I enjoy wood turning, the beach and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

While attending the University of Alabama I decided to spend a summer working in Zion National Park in southern Utah. It was there that I met my first Mormons. It was their clean lifestyle, kindness, cheerfulness and good examples that gave me pause to wonder what they had that I didn't. After a year of study and prayer the Spirit bore witness to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. My testimony has brought peace and joy to me in the midst of personal trials. My wife and I lost our fourth child at age two when she was hit by a car in front of our home in Birmingham, AL. Knowing that our family can be together forever brings comfort that cannot be expressed in words. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding. My testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon has been a blessing to me since I joined the Church nearly 42 years ago. I have seen the blessings the Gospel has brought into the lives of untold members of the Church. I have experienced miracles in my life and have witnessed miracles in the lives of hundreds of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've enjoyed participating in our nation's political process for decades, participating in community service projects and serving in the Church. Over the years I've served in various church positions including Bishop, Scoutmaster, youth leader and teacher. I've spent time in lower Mississippi and New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina assisting those impacted by the storm regardless of religious affiliation. My wife and I have recently been called to serve a full-time mission for 18 months to Uganda. We are so exicited about this opportunity to serve our Heavenly Father.
