Hi I'm Shane

I am an emergency physician in a busy county ER. I am Alaskan at heart. I am a father of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved around quite a bit as a child, but my heart claims Alaska as my home. I am currently an emergency medicine resident at one of the nations' busiest emergency departments in Texas. I have three beautiful and busy children. My garage is my workout paradise.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. As I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its words I have felt the reassuring peace that comes from God. It is because of these feelings that I know the Book of Mormon to be inspired of God. Believing in the Book of Mormon means that this life has purpose, death is not the end of our existence, Jesus Christ really did live and really did save us, God continues to answer prayers, God loves us and we are all children of our Heavenly Father capable of great things.

How I live my faith

My faith has a large role in how a practice medicine. The patients I serve in our county hospital often come from humble backgrounds, but they are the most grateful and humble patients you could ask for. As I serve my patients I am reminded of the love our Savior had for the poor, the ill and the distraught. My faith helps me to see how each of my patients is a child of God capable of greatness, despite their current circumstances. My faith helps me to find joy in serving while I work.
